Levande Oatlands – 15,850m² village anchored around a shared central garden

Levande Oatlands is a resort-style retirement village of five buildings and townhouses set around a central garden, built in connection with the neighbouring Oatlands Golf Club. The project positions retirement living as a “right-sizer” experience – hotel-like and homely rather than traditional aged care.

Working with Levande and Marchese, Extrablack was commissioned to develop a signage and wayfinding system for the precinct, including strategy, wayfinding hierarchy and display suite signage. The design approach centres on a warm bronze materiality, per-building colour coding to support intuitive orientation, and a custom pictogram suite, with dementia-friendly cues woven throughout to support residents and visitors across the site.
